Join us for a public conversation with theater artist Marty Pottenger and Leeway Executive Director Denise Brown, who will engage in a dynamic discussion on practice, process, artistry and social concerns. A reception will be held immediately following the conversation.​

Marty Pottenger is a writer, theater artist, and the Founder/Director of Art at Work, a national initiative piloted with the City of Portland, Maine to improve municipal government through strategic arts projects. This Fall, Pottenger will lend her expertise in arts-based civic dialogue to the Bride. Her other residencies and lectures include Virginia Tech, Emerson College, New York University, the Maine Arts Commission, and the National Endowment of the Arts. Artist, cultural organizer, facilitator and strategist, Denise M. Brown uses her skills and energies to create, support and illuminate works at the intersections of art, culture and social justice. She is currently the Executive Director of the Leeway Foundation (leeway.org) in Philadelphia, an organization whose mission is to support women and trans* artists and cultural producers creating art for social change. She also acts as board member of Bread and Roses Community Fund, Grantmakers in the Arts, the Henrietta Wurts Memorial Fund, Philanthropy Network of Greater Philadelphia, PhillyCAM, and Scribe Video Center.
